Tanah Lot means “Land in the middle of the sea” in Balinese”.Tanah Lot Temple believed was built by Danghyang Nirartha in 15^th century as holy place for him to worship the Balinese sea gods.This temple is one of seven sea temple in Bali, formed a chain along the south - western coast.

Tanah Lot Temple became famous travel destination in the world because its special location, that is, the temple looks like in the middle of the sea when the tide is high, when one is low the temple looks like in the beach and people can walk to the temple.

Other most famous in Tanah Lot is at the base of the temple inside many rock caves, inhabitated by sea snakes. Which are believed to guard the temple.

Monthly temperature average 27.60^o celcius, hoter in march average is 32.40^o celcius, and colder in november average 20.70^o celcius Rainy per month average is 212 mm and higher in december 459 mm.

How to get there?

Tanah Lot located in Tabanan regency, distrik Kediri, countryside of Beraban. If you are travel from Tabanan the distance is about 13 km heading south to Beraban countryside. And if you travel from Denpasar heading northwest to Tabanan, at Kediri cross road turn left or heading to southwest about 9 km to get Tanah Lot. The distance between Denpasar to Tanah Lot is about 30 km. You can also using bemo (public transportation) depart from Denpasar’s Ubung Station heading to Kediri. From Kediri take bemo to Tanah Lot.
